Kim Martin is the Executive Director of Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club and finds her work with the club incredibly diverse, challenging, and rewarding. She brings a lifelong background in water safety, aquatics, and program leadership, having worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, swim team coach, and aquatics program director at the University of North Georgia. Her deep experience in aquatic education and athlete development has shaped LCKC’s focus on safety, quality coaching, and inclusive programming.
Kim joined LCKC initially running summer camps and coaching BRL, later transitioning to coach the Developmental Program, where she helped guide athletes through the early stages of competitive paddling. Her hands-on leadership and operational insight now guide the clubs overall direction, programs, and community engagement.
Kim has been married for nearly 34 years and is the proud parent of six children and grandparent to six grandchildren. Outside of LCKC, she enjoys reading, photography, swimming, hobby farming, cooking, and traveling, and continues to value time spent outdoors and on the water.
