Benji joined Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club in 2018 through the Beginner Racing League and has been a member of the High Performance Team since 2021. Since then, he has represented the United States for three consecutive years at the Olympic Hopes Regatta and the Junior/U23 World Championships, competing at the highest levels of international sprint racing.
Benji has earned numerous National Championship titles throughout his competitive career and brings that experience into his coaching. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Canoe Team and coaches Beginner Racing League teams during the season, where he focuses on building strong fundamentals and enthusiasm for the sport. Outside of paddling, Benji is a student at the University of North Georgia, studying Engineering and Physics, with aspirations to pursue research at a National Laboratory.
