Beginner Racing League

BRL is an exciting program for kids ages 7-17 to dive into the world of sprint flatwater canoe/kayak and dragon boat. Over 8 weeks in the spring or 6 weeks in the fall, participants will develop essential skills like teamwork, confidence, social connections, and athletic abilities. With a focus on fun and personal growth, BRL helps kids build friendships and learn the value of working together toward a shared goal.

No experience is necessary—BRL welcomes participants of all skill levels, and all equipment is provided!

Choose your team to fit your schedule best! Each team practices twice a week, with unique practice times to accommodate busy families. Every team has a dedicated coach who works with participants throughout the season, providing personalized guidance to build skills, foster teamwork, and encourage growth in a supportive environment.

At the end of the season, teams come together for the ultimate highlight: the Fungatta. This thrilling day of competition is held at the historic venue of the 1996 Olympic Games for rowing and sprint canoe/kayak. Kids will race on the same waters as Olympians, competing in single and team boats to earn points and awards. The Fungatta is a celebration of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship that brings the whole league together in an unforgettable experience.
